The course is designed to enhance responsible decision-making with regards to alcohol and other drug use. Students are encouraged to explore the effects of alcohol and other drug use on themselves, their families and their world.  DUI Evaluations Provides a court-ordered assessment of individuals who have been convicted of driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol to evaluate the severity of their problem and make a recommendation to the court regarding appropriate treatment.  Outpatient Treatment Provides outpatient substance use disorder services that usually requires fewer than nine hours per week of attendance, which may include individual and group counseling, 12-step meetings, social and recreational activities, educational and vocational services, life skills training, primary health care, perinatal health care, relapse prevention services, a continuing care program and supportive services (transportation and parenting skills development). Length of service can be anywhere between six months to two years depending on the needs of the individual and/or court order.  Intensive Outpatient Treatment  Provides outpatient SUD services that usually require 9-20 hours per week of attendance, which may include individual and group counseling, 12-step meetings, social and recreational activities, educational and vocational services, life skills training, primary health care, perinatal health care, relapse prevention services, a continuing care program and supportive services (transportation and parenting skills development).  Agency provides BH-ASO-certified service(s).

Provides a year-long intensive outpatient recovery and relapse prevention program.   Program offers over 20 classes covering topics including relapse prevention, life skills, problem solving, anger management and conflict resolution.   Classes also include support groups; 12-step meetings such as AA and NA; and optional religious counseling, prayer service and Bible study group. Some classes are co-ed while others are not.  Some staff are certified drug and alcohol counselors.   Participants must attend program full-time for their first four months; participation for the remainder of the year is at the discretion of a case manager.   Meals are provided. Friday program includes an outdoors or cultural outing.   SATISFIES COURT ORDER REQUIREMENTS.

Goodheart Behavioral Health provides Adult Intensive Outpatient substance use disorder treatment. Substance Abuse assessments (18 years and older) can enroll into Outpatient Treatment (OP). Outpatient services will use a person-centered, holistic model of care to assist individuals 18 and older who are experiencing mental health issues. Assessment of individual Mental, Emotional, Physical and Social needs and treatment planning in individual or group therapy session. Most insurances are accepted or sliding fee scale of payment.

Provides an intensive outpatient chemical dependency treatment program to youth and adult tribal members.  Services include drug/alcohol evaluations and court-ordered DUI assessments.

Intensive outpatient program consists of eight weeks of day or evening sessions centered on education, individual and group therapy, family education, and participation in community sober support programs. The Intensive Outpatient Program provides focus on the special needs of adults who are able to remain abstinent on an outpatient basis, but are in need of support. Intensive Outpatient is twelve weeks in length for 72 total hours of treatment time, followed with approximately 18 months of weekly aftercare and the remainder of the two-year requirement is completed with monthly monitoring. Intensive outpatient participants attend group three times per week for three hours each session. there are 4 individual sessions to be completed in the 12-week process. Session topics include:   The Disease Concept Of Chemical Dependency, Grief Process, Anger, Spirituality, Relapse Process (Including Identifying Triggers And Relapse Prevention), The Physiological Effects Of Alcohol, Marijuana, Stimulants, Prescription Drugs, And More, The Brain Chemistry Of Addiction, Family Issues Including Codependency, Family Roles, And Communication, Skills, Nutrition And Exercise In Recovery

The Alcohol/Drug Information School (ADIS) is a one day class, usually held on the last Saturday of each month. ADIS meets Department of Licensing (DOL), requirements for persons, convicted of DUI, who do not have a significant alcohol or drug abuse problem. ADIS is also available to other individuals that have a desire to learn about the impact of chemical use. DUI Evaluations - provides a court-ordered assessment of individuals who have been convicted of driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol to evaluate the severity of their problem and make a recommendation to the court regarding appropriate treatment. Adult Outpatient (aftercare) - follows either Intensive Outpatient or Intensive Inpatient treatment using a combination of group and individual counseling sessions. Adult Outpatient aids the individual to adjust to a life without chemicals. Adolescent Outpatient substance abuse counseling and chemical dependency treatment uses a combination of group, individual, and family sessions to develop and maintain a chemical free lifestyle. The number of group sessions per week is adjusted to meet the therapeutic needs of the adolescent. Intensive Outpatient (IOP) - is primary chemical dependency treatment provided on an outpatient basis using a combination of group and individual sessions. It permits an individual to receive chemical dependency treatment, while staying in his/her home community. Therefore, the individual is able to maintain employment and meet other life obligations, while receiving primary chemical dependency treatment services. Other Addictions - gambling, sex and food addictions are often associated with substance abuse or chemical dependency. Counseling is available to individuals for other addictions to assist in maintaining recovery. Relapse Prevention Counseling (RPC) - designed to assist individuals to identify high-risk situations and develop coping skills to maintain abstinence while in those situations. Relapse Prevention Therapy (RPT) is designed to assist individuals to identify and change personality traits and lifestyle patterns that interfere with their attaining and maintaining long-term sobriety. Family Services - while it is vitally important for the chemical user to address his/her substance use, it is equally important to address the family system dynamics to ensure the person the best opportunity for long-term benefits of his/her treatment experience. Therefore, family counseling sessions and family group therapy are an integral part of treatment at Advocates for Wellness. Family Interventions - the person using chemicals is often unaware of the damage s/he is inflicting on other family members. The family often needs support and guidance on how to confront and/or help the chemical user to see the need for treatment. Family Intervention is a structured format that will assist the one using chemicals to seek treatment, and provide the family a start to healing the damage caused by the chemical user. Mental Health Services - the chemical user and his/her family members often need counseling in addition to substance abuse counseling. Mental Health services are available at Advocates for Wellness by trained Mental Health Professionals. Agency provides DBHR-certified service(s).

Included are court-ordered and voluntary programs for people who are involved in domestic violence or child abuse as well as general workshops for people who are uncomfortable with the way they express their anger. Mental Health Evaluations -programs that provide screening, diagnostic and treatment planning services for people who are experiencing acute or chronic psychiatric problems. Included is a continuum of assessment services ranging from a comprehensive psychiatric or psychological evaluation to the administration of one or a combination of psychological tests to examine a particular personality variable. Services may be provided in a variety of settings including hospitals and community-based clinics. Co-occurring Groups - offers support groups for those who face co-occurring disorders. Volunteers of America’s Transitional Living Program provides support for up to twenty chronically homeless. Referred primarily from Healthcare for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) these individuals deal with co-occurring issues of mental illness, substance use, and often also physical ailments.
